What is Fox Mayhem?

One of the operator’s most significant challenges is the increase in gambling tax enforced over recent years. Petra has been particularly vocal about this and the company’s profitability has taken a reasonable hit, since the first tax increase to 34.2% of GGR came into effect on 1 January 2025.

Holland Casino now pays 37.8% of GGR to the state, as per the additional increase in 2026, but with labour tax on top the business pays around 52% before they can look at their base running costs. It is not a small burden by any stretch of the imagination, so it is heartening to see the business doing well despite the tightening tax burden.

With such a significant rise in tax, you would forgive the company for cutting wherever possible, but Petra says they have made it work by maximising efficiency, restructuring, and maintaining their offering so the customer doesn’t notice that anything has changed.

About Fox Mayhem

Under the campaign banner #PlaySafeAfrica, each day of this week will focus on a specific aspect of safer gambling. These include responsible gambling, personal limits and the prevention of underage gambling.

The week will feature a coordinated programme of engagement between regulators and the industry, as well as public education and digital awareness activities.

Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of the AiA, said the industry’s growth must be matched by a stronger focus on player protection, highlighting the need for greater collaboration between regulators and operators.

About Fox Mayhem

The “3” prefix is not incidental. Spinomenal’s catalog already includes titles such as 3 Chinese Charms and 3 Volcano Power, alongside 3 Fortune Mummies. That points to a deliberate naming convention, one that groups slots into a recognizable line.

This numbered structure works as a soft branding device. It signals to players that a title belongs to a familiar mechanical or presentational family, which can shorten the time it takes a returning player to feel oriented in a new game.

The approach also suits Spinomenal’s release rhythm. The provider ships titles at a steady clip across multiple themes at once, and a repeatable template makes that schedule far more sustainable over time. A useful shortcut, in other words.
